Timothy Russell, CLU, ChFC, registered LPL principal, is the founder and owner of Valley Oak Wealth Management, an independent financial consulting firm specializing in retirement planning. For over a quarter of a century, Tim has been helping clients, friends, and families make sound financial decisions. His business success has been built on simple common sense and answering two questions: “If I were a client what would I want, and how would I want to be treated?”
He personally believes answering these two simple questions allows the firm to be proactive and to anticipate their clients’ needs before they know they need it. This was one of the reasons the Novato Chamber of Commerce voted Valley Oak Wealth Management small business of the year.
Since 2002, Tim has been affiliated with LPL Financial and provides access to independent financial planning services, investment advice and asset management services to over 225 clients throughout the country. LPL Financial Chairman’s Club from 2003 through 2020. A distinction that has been given to the top 6% of LPL’s 16,000 registered representatives.
Tim believes in investor’s education. He regularly holds client educational events, conducts personal meetings and takes every opportunity to interact directly with his clients, He clearly enjoys his role as fiduciary and trusted advisor.
Tim is an enthusiastic fisherman, and a top amateur yacht racer. He has competed and won many regattas throughout the country. Most recently he defended his national championship in the J105, and the Wylie Wabbit, a three man, high performance keel boat.
Giving back to the community has always been important to Tim. When asked to donate, sponsor, or host a local charitable event, Tim and his wife Anne answer the call. They have been active parents and supporters of Marin Catholic High School. Tim served on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce, and served as chairman of the board for the Gilead House whose mission is to end homelessness for women and children in Marin County.
Tim is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Novato, a Chamber of Commerce program in partnership with the City.
Tim is a longtime resident of Marin County where he lives with his wife, Anne, and daughter, Lucie.
